Our third annual Cardinal Lights spectacular holiday light display has returned to the Lamar University campus for the Southeast Texas community to enjoy. For the entire month of December, families are invited to take a slow drive through campus to enjoy the lights and other holiday decorations.
Thousands of lights will adorn trees and illuminate campus buildings around Jimmy Simmons Boulevard, Jim Gilligan Way and the Rolfe Christopher Drive entrance to campus. The Spindletop-Gladys City Boomtown Museum also will be merry and bright for the entire month of December with Christmas in Boomtown: City in Lights.
One lucky Lamar University staff member and their family will be selected to flip the switch at the lighting ceremony.
Date: Wednesday, December 6
Time: 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Lighting and Fireworks at 6:30 p.m.
Location: Wayne A. Reaud Building courtyard
Featuring: Children’s activities, hot cocoa with holiday cookies and fireworks
We're looking for a Lamar University employee who would do us the honor and flip the switch that will
turn on our beautiful Cardinal Lights at the kick-off event.
